The Artist

Photographer Ellen Loeffler-Kalinoski graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has been exhibiting her work in local, regional and national shows, galleries and exhibits for more than 17 years. She is a member of the Toledo Artists Club, Athena Art Society, and is the secretary of the Northwestern Ohio Watercolor Society.

Light and shadow are among the strongest influences in Ellen's work, especially in her many photographs of windows and doorways. Architectural details combined with natural elements dominate in the images. She strives to capture the beauty of our world - the smallest corner so easily overlooked - the fleeting moment of exquisite light - to record it on film and give it back to the world for our viewing pleasure.

From Michigan to Italy to the Islands, each serene image captures a moment in time, captivating the eyes and soul. The photographs can be framed in her signature antique, weathered window frames which further enhance the natural moods of the pieces.

Ellen's award-winning photography is displayed in numerous exhibitions, galleries and private collections. She is represented by the following galleries:

  • Toledo Museum of Art, Collectors Corner, Toledo, Ohio
  • The American Gallery, Sylvania, Ohio
  • Cedar Creek Interiors, Harbor Springs, Michigan
